Company Name Change and Relocation of Company Headquarters for Asyst Shinko Inc.

As of September 1, 2007, Asyst Shinko, Inc. (head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & COO: Hitoshi Kawano) will change its company name to "Asyst Technologies Japan, Inc." In addition, from August 27, 2007, it will move its head office from Daimon, Minato-ku, Tokyo (nearest station: JR Hamamatsucho station) to Konan, Minato-ku (nearest station: JR Shinagawa station).

Our company was established on October 1, 2002 as a joint venture between Asyst Japan, Inc. (head office: Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa; President: Tetsuo Yamashita) which is the Japanese subsidiary of Asyst Technologies, Inc. (head office: Fremont, California, U.S.A.; Chairman & CEO: Stephen S. Schwartz, Ph.D.) and Shinko Electric Co., Ltd. (head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Tsutomu Yasui). Thanks to the support and cooperation of our clients, we have been able to grow steadily.

Since our company was founded, we have established our position of leadership in the AMHS business. We shall endeavor to utilize the synergy of the global Asyst team to expand our product range and provide even better customer services. Furthermore, we shall further rationalize our businesses under our new company name and vigorously push forward with our AMHS business so that we can meet the demands of our customers.
